From Dream to Destination: Sod-Turning Ceremony Marks New Era for Hartbeespoort Healthcare

Phelang Bonolo Healthcare (PBH Group) proudly hosted the official sod-turning ceremony for its upcoming Hartbeespoort Private Hospital on Wednesday, 11 June 2025. Held under the inspiring theme “From Dream to Destination – A New Horizon for Healthcare in Harties,” the event marked a major milestone in PBH’s mission to expand quality, accessible healthcare to more communities across South Africa.

The ceremony took place at the hospital’s future site along the R511 in the Xanadu Eco Estate, near the well-known Jasmyn Crossing. PBH executives, local dignitaries, and healthcare stakeholders were in attendance to witness the start of what will become a state-of-the-art private hospital offering 80 beds, an emergency unit, three theatres, radiology and pathology services, consulting suites, a pharmacy, and a patient-focused retail coffee shop.

With construction scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, the hospital is expected to open its doors in 2027. Once operational, it will provide critical healthcare services including maternity, paediatrics, surgery, dialysis, neurosurgery, and psychiatric care — bringing much-needed healthcare access to a region currently underserved by private hospital infrastructure.

The Hartbeespoort Private Hospital is one of several PBH hospital developments aligned with the national agenda to improve healthcare access through the implementation of National Health Insurance (NHI). Building on the success of flagship facilities such as Botshilu Private Hospital in Soshanguve, PBH is continuing to expand its footprint in high-growth, high-need areas across the country.

With its strategic location and comprehensive care offering, the Hartbeespoort facility is set to become a regional hub for modern, patient-centred healthcare.
